People’s Choice Awards 2016 kicks off Hollywood’s awards season

SHARON Osbourne literally gave a random stage crasher the boot and told him to “F**k off”, after he tried to interrupt the People’s Choice Awards today.

The man tried to steal the microphone during the acceptance speech from Osbourne and her co-hosts of daytime TV show The Talk.

After the audience member hijacked the moment by grabbing the microphone from Sara Gilbert, Osbourne responded with a literal kick to the unwelcome stage guest. She then dropped the F-bomb.

The random punter tried to promote his music album, but was stopped short as Osbourne kicked him.

One of her Talk co-hosts, Sheryl Underwood, also intervened by grabbing back the microphone.

She referenced the presenter who caused controversy by announcing the wrong winner of Miss Universe recently, saying: “You ain’t going to pull no Steve Harvey up in here”, and then called on security to remove the young man off stage.

The American award ceremony honours stars from entertainment and popular culture and is voted for by the public.

Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth won the Award for Favourite Action Movie Actor.

The Thor star beat Fast and Furious actors Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel, as well as fellow Marvel superheroes Robert Downey Jr and Chris Pratt.

Hemsworth, who spent Christmas and New Year’s in Byron Bay, was in LA to accept the award in person.

The ceremony, voted on by fans, was not such a good outing for fellow Australian Rebel Wilson, who was trumped by Melissa McCarthy for favourite comedic movie actress.

Ellen DeGeneres was also recognised as the Favourite Humanitarian.

The honour comes with a $US200,000 ($A278,500) donation from Walgreens, which DeGeneres is directing toward St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

“I have to say it’s a little strange to receive an award for being nice and generous,” DeGeneres said.

“That’s what we are supposed to do.”

The comedienne joked with the crowd, telling them she would show off her generosity.

She then shared a photo of a shirtless Hemsworth.
