The pair were almost “twinning” on the red carpet during their live broadcast for their rival breakfast shows, both looking stunning in similar short sleeved black dresses with netted necklines.

Both breakfast show hosts wore Australian designers to the glitzy affair, with Today’s Wilkinson wearing a custom Pallas Couture dress and Sunrise’s Armytage in Rachel Gilbert.

E! Fashion Police star Kelly Osbourne also got the memo on the black and lacy, wearing a similar neckline with full A-line skirt.

The glamorous Aussie TV hosts also weren’t afraid to ditched their heels, both tweeting about their tired feet.

“You can take the girl out of Wagga...” wrote Armytage alongside a picture of her heels on the carpet, while a sneaker wearing Wilkinson said “Sometimes at the #Oscars, you just gotta take a load off...”

While the red carpet regulars well and truly nailed Oscars fashion, we would have loved to have seen their faces when they greeted each other on the ruby rug!
