The delayed 75th Emmys red carpet (which is actually silver) is in full swing, and TV stars have descended upon the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles for television’s biggest night.
The awards show that celebrates all things television normally happens every September, but was affected by Hollywood’s strikes, which saw the night postponed until now.
And although we’re two weeks into 2024, the ceremony will honour works by television’s best and brightest ranging from June 2022 to May 2023.
Here are some of the looks worn by the stars at this year’s show.
Australian stars Sarah Snook and Elizabeth Debicki will be hoping to add Emmys to their recent Golden Globe and Critics Choice wins for Succession and The Crown, but both are up against some stiff competition in their respective categories.
During a red carpet interview, Snook — dressed in a jaw dropping red gown — said she was excited to be at the Emmys with her Succession castmates, describing it as a “total reunion”.
“I’ve missed everybody. We haven’t seen each other for a year, I went and had a baby, and now we’re seeing everybody and so it’s really special to be able to celebrate it,” she said.
When asked about the plot line of her character Siobhan “Shiv” Roy, Snook said said pulled “the worst sister move ever” on her brother.
The awards will be hosted by Anthony Anderson who will be hoping his turn at the helm will be more favourably received than that of his fellow comedian Jo Koy, who received scathing reviews after last week’s Golden Globes.
The ceremony was delayed from last year, following the dual Hollywood writers and actors strikes, which means there will actually be two Emmy events this year, with the actual 2024 awards to return to the traditional mid-September spot - right before the US autumn television season starts.
