Gold Coast radio station 90.9 SeaFM is celebrating a huge milestone this year, 30 years after Jimmy Barnes performed at the station’s premiere.

GOLD Coast radio station 90.9 SeaFM is celebrating its 30th birthday today.
Aussie rock legend Jimmy Barnes performed at the station premiere in 1989.
The original brekkie show was SEA FM Morning Zoo with Craig and Sammy — hosted by Sammy Power and Craig Bruce.

Paul Gale was the longest-standing breakfast radio hosts for 90.9 SeaFM, hosting the show for 16 years.
Mr Gale and co-host Charli Robinson left in late 2016, allowing Heather Maltman, Ben Hannant and Dan Anstey to take over.

“I used to listen to The Big Kahuna’s Fat 30 with Renee back in the day and I had no idea that I wanted to do radio at that time,” Mr Anstey said.
“It seemed like to coolest job in the world, something I couldn’t do. And now I’m getting to work here and make memories for our listeners now just like they did for me.”
