The Gold Coast will become a hub for A-lister’s once more as the 61st TV WEEK Logies return to the city later this year. Here’s when.

The Gold Coast will become a hub for A-lister’s once more as the 61st TV WEEK Logies return to the city on June 30.

The event will be held at The Star in Broadbeach again after more than 30,000 people turned out to see the TV stars last year, including Dr Who’s Peter Capaldi.

Live voting for the 11 Most Popular categories will also return, with two other awards making a comeback to the list of categories, Most Popular Panel Or Current Affairs Program and Most Outstanding Entertainment Program.

A new award, Most Outstanding Reality Program, has also been introduced.

Tourism Industry Development Minister Kate Jones said last year’s Logies showed Australia “exactly why” Queensland has a global reputation for world-class film and television.

“With several major blockbusters under our belt, the Gold Coast is now a serious hub for film and television production so hosting the 2019 TV WEEK Logie Awards is a perfect fit,” she said.

The Logies was moved to the Gold Coast for the first time last year after being poached off Melbourne.

It will stay on the Gold Coast until 2021 under a deal sealed late 2017 by the state government.
