PALM Beach-Currumbin State High has today celebrated the official opening of a $12 million upgrade to its library facility.
The high school used funding from the Palaszczuk Government to build a new three-storey building, which features not only a library but six classrooms, two design studios, offices, kitchen and collaborative spaces.
The development is the seventh to be delivered to a Gold Coast school by the State Government under its 2020 Ready project.

Education Minister Grace Grace today visited the school to officially open the building, which can accommodate close to 300 students.
“It’s fantastic to see this kind of an investment in a fast-growing school of more than 2,600 students, delivered under the Government’s $430 million 2020 Ready program,” Ms Grace said.
“I would also like to acknowledge the school P&C’s generous contribution of $1 million to include the kitchen and function areas.
“We know the Gold Coast is rapidly growing, that’s why we’re building the classrooms and schools needed to keep pace.”
Palm Beach-Currumbin State High principal Christopher Capra said students and staff were ecstatic about the library precinct building.
“These new classrooms give us plenty of space to accommodate the continued growth in enrolments we have experienced this year,” he said.
