RANKED: How every South Burnett school performed in NAPLAN 2025

A South Burnett Times analysis of data for the region’s primary and secondary schools has revealed the top performing NAPLAN schools for 2025. SEE HOW EVERY SCHOOL PERFORMED:

St Mary’s Catholic College and Crawford State School are South Burnett’s top performing NAPLAN schools for 2025.

An independent analysis of newly-released 2025 NAPLAN results have revealed the schools which performed the best in the Year 5 and Year 9 tests, which students sat in March.

Crawford State School had the best primary results compared to any other school in the South Burnett, scoring an average of 496.4.

St Mary’s Catholic College in Kingaroy was the second best for the region with an average score of 476.2, while St Patrick’s Primary School in Nanango was the third best with an average score of 473.4.

For the second year in a row, the top performing secondary school was St Mary’s Catholic College, where the average result was 580.6.

Kilkivan State School was the second best for the region with an average score of 550.2, while Nanango State High School was the third best with an average score of 546.4.

Overall, the top South Burnett schools scored lower compared to last year, with Wooroolin State School scoring the top primary result in 2024 with an average of 502.2 and St Mary’s Catholic College receiving an average result of 593.6 in 2024.

To determine how each school performed, scores for all five tests in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy for Year 5 or Year 9 were combined and the average calculated.

Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.

The figures were independently compiled from the Federal Government’s MySchool website.
