The top performing primary and secondary schools in Penrith in this year’s NAPLAN have been revealed.

Taking the top spot in Penrith for secondary is none other than Penrith High School scoring at 697, putting it in 10th place across the entire state.

Penrith High School’s principal, Jaclyn Kush told this masthead how proud she was of her “students and staff”.

“Ranking number 10 it’s a wonderful achievement but what matters most to us is the consistent hard work and wellbeing that under pins it,” she said.

“This year we’re celebrating 75 years as a public high school and that achievement is a really wonderful way to honour our history.”

Following behind are Wollemi College in Werrington with 632, St Paul’s Grammar School in Cranebrook with 610.2, Penrith Anglican College in Orchard Hills with 596 and Caroline Chisholm College in Glenmore Patk with 573.

The highest scoring primary school in the Penrith area was Kingswood Public School with a score of 522.4.

Coming close behind was St Paul’s Grammar School in Cranebrook at 518.

The Daily Telegraph’s analysis of the state’s highest performing schools in this year’s NAPLAN has revealed the most improved primary and high schools, and the top performing mainstream schools that outperformed both academically selective and elite private institutions.

Every school’s performance has been analysed by averaging Year 5 and Year 9 students’ reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy results in the 2025 NAPLAN.
