As of Tuesday, testing for the virus was opened up to the general public on the Gold Coast who are presenting with symptoms.
Five people have been killed by the illness across the state.
“Contact tracing is underway for the new cases. Queensland Health will notify the community if any other public health alerts are required,” a Queensland Health statement said.
“The majority of cases are from patients who have travelled overseas, or have had direct contact with a confirmed case who had travelled overseas.
“The number of confirmed cases we see each day is expected to vary as we continue to respond to the COVID-19 situation across the state.”
It comes as new restrictions came into effect on the Queensland, New South Wales border.
Since Saturday, 3,263 vehicles have been intercepted at the border, 376 of which were turned around.
Police figures reveal 101 of those were directed into quarantine.
