SURF Parade in Broadbeach is set to finally reopen this afternoon after construction caused months of pain to businesses in the area.

The Gold Coast City Council’s $5 million transformation is almost complete with the street set to open to traffic at 5pm today.

Contractors will remain on site over the coming weeks to complete minor details.

Some street bays will be closed to the public while those works are finished.

Traders estimated they had lost between 30 and 75 per cent of their business during the works which took began in August last year.

Construction paused briefly during the peak Christmas and New Year period.
