A committal hearing date has been set for Ryan Bayldon-Lumsden, a former Gold Coast City councillor charged with the murder of his step-father Robert Lumsden.
On Friday the Southport Magistrates Court heard it will be another eight months before all parties will be ready for a committal hearing.
The former councillor was charged on August 23, 2023. His lawyers have entered a not guilty plea to the charge of murder.
Mr Bayldon-Lumsden, who is on Supreme Court bail, was not required to attend the mention in person on Friday.
In consultation with the prosecution and Mr Bayldon-Lumsden’s solicitors, Magistrate Jakub Lodziak adjourned the matter for the committal hearing until July 8, 2025.
