The extensive $11 million makeover, which is expected to commence in the first half of 2019, will include the construction of a new transparent roof over restaurants in the Piazza in order to make the dining precinct weather friendly.

The project is part of a $1 billion stage three redevelopment of the entire centre, which includes the construction of an open air fresh food and retail precinct linking to the Castle Hill metro station.

Castle Towers Centre Manager, Eddie Paynter, said the upgrade would further enhance the popular dining area.

“This proposed significant upgrade project will provide a beautiful and welcoming environment to access The Piazza’s exceptional food and entertainment offerings 365 days of the year,” Mr Paynter said.

“We’re excited to be delivering a stunning environment perfect for our Castle Towers community to dwell, mingle and enjoy.”

Mr Paynter said Piazza retailers would remain open during the upgrade.

“We’ll also be welcoming more new retailers to the Piazza as part of this project, and we look

forward to making further exciting announcements on these as our plans progress,” he said.

The centre manager also revealed an invitation for the stage one tender of construction had been released by the centre.

The initial phase of works include connection to the new Castle Hill Metro Station via a pedestrian underpass beneath Old Castle Hill Rd, as well as a new integrated retail precinct.

“This seamless connection will deliver on an important part of our long-term vision for Castle

Towers, making it easier than ever to connect customers with the exceptional range of food, retail, entertainment and lifestyle options on offer,” Mr Paynter said.
