Customers outraged by KFC staff member’s unhygienic act

A KFC is under fire after an employee was photographed standing on the counter without shoes while cleaning equipment.

A KFC staff member has been captured standing on a benchtop without shoes to clean equipment.

The picture was taken at a Queensland KFC by a customer who raised concerns over the store’s hygienic practices.

Reported by 7News, the staff member was standing on the counter top without shoes and cleaning the cooking equipment, which appears to be filled with chicken.

A KFC spokesman confirmed the franchise store was not following hygiene practices in line with the fast-food chain’s standards.

The spokesman confirmed KFC would launch an investigation into the Queensland store.

“KFC is committed to ensuring our food preparation and hygiene processes meet and exceed Australian standards, including Australian Work Health and Safety requirements, to keep our customers and employees safe,” the spokesman said

“We expect every restaurant to comply with these standards and are investigating the incident with the franchisee and management team.

“Action will be taken to ensure our high standards are met in the future.”
