UK popstar Harry Styles sends Gold Coast candle shop into frenzy

A Gold Coast candle manufacturer has made ‘at least $30k’ in a couple of days and it’s all thanks to superstar Harry Styles.

A GOLD Coast candle manufacturer has been inundated with orders for an unusual scent worn by famous UK popstar Harry Styles.

Based in Ashmore, Lanterncove received more than 400 orders in a couple of days for their ‘Tobacco & Vanilla’ candle.

This comes after it was revealed the English star Styles, who sings hit song Sign Of The Times, revealed his signature scent was designer Tom Ford’s cologne in Tobacco Vanille.

Lanterncove owner Sandra Klaric said she and her five staff members had been “flatout” trying to keep up with the online orders.

“All of a sudden overnight, we’ve just had 100s of orders for these candles,” Mrs Klaric said.

“We’ve had a big spike (in sales). Just for the Tobacco & Vanilla candles, probably at least $30,000 in a few days in sales.”

Mrs Klaric has owned Lanterncove for the past five years and describes the dupe scent as: “really spicy, earthy, woody, quite nice but very subtle”.

“It’s so weird how it’s come about. People are looking for tobacco vanilla candles,” she said.

“We sell all over Australia and New Zealand and it’s just one of the fragrents we sell in one of the ranges.

“We are just flat out at the moment. We are making a lot to keep up with orders.”
