NEIGHBOURHOOD shopping centre Treetops Plaza at Burleigh Waters has opened a new dining precinct after extensive renovations by owner Rayjon Group.
The refurbishment at the Coles-anchored centre, developed in 1992, began earlier this year and involved three tenants moving inside the mall, the closure of the laundromat, and the relocation of Euro Grill Cafe within the dining precinct.
Rayjon also carved out a 254sq m alfresco dining area by extending out into the carpark — creating a total precinct of 689sq m spread across five tenancies.
Wholefood cafe Brio Emporium was the first to open in the precinct when it opened the doors to its second Gold Coast venue in August.
Euro Grill has moved from within the precinct to the former newsagency, almost doubling its premises in the process to 80sq m.
Three tenancies remain available for lease spanning 92sq m to 218sq m and starting from $588 a square metre gross.

Ray White Commercial Gold Coast’s Shay Fairhurst, who is handling leasing for the dining precinct, said the property occupies a strategic location in a fast-growing area.
“The plaza itself attracts more than 42,000 pedestrians every week, with more than 250,000 cars travelling past Treetops Plaza weekly — almost double the traffic of the Gold Coast Highway at Burleigh Heads,” he said.
“The new dining precinct is positioned at the entrance of the centre, facing Bermuda St, offering restaurants fantastic exposure.”
Mr Fairhurst said the remaining tenancies are suited for lunch time and evening dining operators that complement the existing mix.
“The renovation has delivered two new alfresco areas ideal for evening dining, which can be fully enclosed with weather proofing blinds, for year-round trade,” he said.
The alfresco areas also feature timber wall and ceiling panelling, glass louvres and landscaping.
Treetops Plaza is anchored by Coles and Chemist Warehouse. It has 31 specialty stores, a medical services hub and a freestanding Petbarn outlet.
John Hembrow’s Rayjon Group recently offloaded the Red Rooster Centre, located next to Treetops, for $7.91 million in August.
In 2016 Rayjon took Treetops to the market after securing preliminary approval for Urbia Burleigh, which had a masterplan enabling the footprint of the shopping centre to be expanded and development of office buildings and 650 apartments in towers of up to 20 storeys.
