A GLITTER Strip nightclub operator is expanding its footprint in Surfers Paradise with a new party “kingdom” opening later this month.
New Hallmark Group venue Tane – pronounced Tah-ney – has announced it will be opening after six months of preparations.
The new venue will be making its debut on party strip Orchid Avenue at 9pm on July 24 after the opening was pushed back from March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The club will join the ever-expanding Hallmark Group’s list of nightlife hotspots. It also runs Retros and Asylum nightclubs on the same stretch plus Irish bar Finn McCool’s on Cavill Avenue.
Hallmark Group marketing manager Tammy Wood said the team was “super excited’’ and in “full speed for opening weekend”.
“There’s a beautiful new entrance off Orchid Avenue which takes you to where you can enter the kingdom,” she said.

“It’s full of greenery and bamboo. You’ll feel like you’re in a whole other world once you step inside the kingdom. It looks gorgeous.”
A sneak peak inside on Wednesday shows it is near completion. The $1.5m development fit-out was overseen by venue fit-out specialist Leigh Weber of Hammer Brothers Constructions. It will trade on Fridays and Saturdays with a 100-patron limit but hours and capacity will be expanded when restrictions ease.
“As restrictions ease there will be DJs, live entertainment and, of course, the dance floor,” Ms Wood said.
“It will have an unforgettable atmosphere.”
Under restrictions currently in place, clubs must abide by a one person per four sq metre rule, dance floors can’t be used and mingling outside of “family or social groups” is banned.
