A GOLD Coast dive bar has been left stunned after being named the city’s best nightclub for 2021.

Vinnes Dive Bar in Southport took home almost half of the vote, beating out popular clubs the Bedroom, SinCity and Retros to take home the crown.

It followed a Bulletin subscriber poll of more than a dozen finalists.

Venue manager Glenn Stewart said: “It’s awesome, it’s been a tough year so it’s good for all the staff.

“We’ve just got a good little community, a lot of the voters are probably bands that have played here.”

He added it was a shock to win - given Vinnies isn’t technically a nightclub.

“It’s really egged everyone on,” he said.

“We had all our bands and regulars sharing it around.

“It’s bloody amazing.”
