THE iconic Pizza Hut restaurant at Kirra Beach will reopen its doors.
New owner Thomas Singh said he had bought the restaurant in the Kirra Beach Pavilion on Marine Parade overlooking the world-famous Kirra Beach.
It comes after the previous owners closed the doors earlier this month after placing the business in liquidation after more than a decade of serving customers.
“We’re looking pretty good (to open) for Tuesday,” Mr Singh said.
“We’re just in the process of hiring more staff and rehiring previous team members.”
The temporary closure sparked community anger this month, with thousands of people reminiscing about their “good old times” at the restaurant.
Mr Singh said he had 25 years experience working for Pizza Hut and had owned up to six different Pizza Hut outlets at a time in the Brisbane area.
“The previous owner just decided to move on I believe and do something different,” he said.
“There was a bit of a time delay between the purchase finalising and restarting, that’s all.
“I looked at it a couple of weeks ago when it was presented to me.”
The Pizza Hut at Kirra is one of the few remaining dine-in Pizza Hut restaurants that offer a popular all-you-can eat buffet menu and use of discount shopper dockets.
Surfers, tourists and locals alike have always been attracted to the world-class location right on the beach which offers good value meals.
