Northern health hub set to open
The Gold Coast’s fast-growing northern corridor will get a new health and lifestyle hub when it opens later this month.

A NEW $20 million medical hub at Homeworld Helensvale will open later this month with the project set to be the largest of its kind in the northern suburbs.
Construction of the GC North Medical Hub and Dining Quarter project is almost complete, with more than 70 per cent of tenants locked in.
The $200 million Helensvale Homeworld centre, situated on a 20ha Hope Island Rd site, is owned by the Les Ansley family, which has engaged Macpro Properties to develop the property.

Macpro leasing executive Joe Prescott said the medical hub will be one of the largest on the northern end of the Coast.
He said tenants will include Artisan Aesthetic Clinic, General Dentist and Dental Implants, physiotherapy clinic Medxperts as well as a podiatrist.
A state-of-the-art Queensland X-Ray medical imaging clinic has also signed on for a 600sq m tenancy.
Fitness fashion retailer Lorna Jane will also open a store in the complex, adding to Homeworld Helensvale’s health and lifestyle focus.
In the Dining Quarter, a number of eateries have signed leases including a drive-through Guzman y Gomez, Bear Boy Espresso, Vincenzo’s Cucina, Fish Hub and an Indian eatery.
Mr Prescott said the project is the latest phase of the masterplan for the property.

“The long-term vision for Homeworld Helensvale is to create a central, community hub for northern residents offering the Gold Coast’s best mix of retail and dining experiences as well as accessible medical and professional conveniences,” he said.
“Homeworld Helensvale opened in 2008 and is now considered the largest and most successful mixed-use, large format centre on the Gold Coast.
“The centre currently boasts 60 tenants and attracted over 1.8 million visitors over the past financial year.”
Mr Prescott said there are a further three stages of development planned, adding a further 20,000sq m of showroom, retail, medical and leisure tenancies including pilates centre and fashion and lifestyle brands.
“By the time we complete the masterplan for Homeworld, the site will have more than 50,000sq m of mixed-use and large format tenancies,” he said.
The Hope Island-Helensvale area and surrounding suburbs continue to grow with a number of new housing developments planned including Villawoods’ The Surrounds and Lyra.
More residents are expected to be attracted to the area following the announcement of preliminary planning for the Coomera Connector and the new railway station on Hope Island Rd due to be completed by 2024.
