TO CELEBRATE Pimpama’s new ALDI supermarket, the supermarket giant will be offering their famous Special Buys, available at no other ALDI store nationwide.
Come September 21 at 8am, nab bed pillows for $4.99, an 81cm HD TVs with DVD player for $169, a 20v rotary hammer drill for $29.99 and an all-in-one food processor for $69.99.
In the past, cult fans of the German supermarket have lined up for hours for dirt cheap but high quality snow gear, homewares, suitcases and recently, a $199 rocking chair that sold out in one minute.
ALDI’s appeal has long been its off-brand products at low prices that has helped the store become a cult favourite with Australians.
The Pimpama City Shopping Centre location will be the Gold Coast’s 17th, and most northern, ALDI store.
While the chain has earned a reputation for being no frills, with minimal shelving, products still in their boxes and self bagging, the new Pimpama store will feature a number of upgraded innovations that “will offer an enhanced shopping experience”. These including better product displays, improved navigation and a modern interior store
design.
Other new features include redesigned shelving, expanded wooden produce bays, as well as extended energy efficient chillers.
As energy management remains a key priority for ALDI, the store has energy efficient LED
lighting. There will also be improved point-of-sale displays and store signage.
“While we’re delighted to be introducing these innovations, we want our customers to know they won’t lead to higher prices,” an ALDI Australia spokesman said.
“Low prices are a big deal for ALDI. In fact, we refuse to be beaten on price.
“This is our fundamental point of difference and one we will never give away.”
Pimpama has experienced huge growth over the past 18 months, 30.8 per cent — or by 2966 — from 2016 to 2017, ABS statistics reveal.
It makes it the third fastest growing suburb in Australia and due to affordable property prices, there is a high number of families seeking value for money.
“We’re excited to be opening our new store in Pimpama and look forward to showing local residents the difference ALDI can make to their wallets and lifestyles,” the spokesman said.
