The Gold Coast’s love affair with fast food is about to get spicier, with the city’s newest KFC now being built.
Construction is well underway on the new restaurant, which is being built on the corner of Ferry Road and Zircon Ave.
It will be part of a mixed-use complex which will primarily include commercial spaces.
The drive-through restaurant is rising on the former site of Scotty’s Trading Post.
It is not known exactly when the KFC will open but it is expected to be around Christmas.
It is part of a series of major fast food outlets which are all located within a few hundred metres of each other.
It just metres away from a Hungry Jacks and McDonalds, both of which are within some of the city’s busiest service stations.
