JEWEL workers are officially labelling the site a protest as hundreds of workers gathered at the $1.4 billion building this morning.

Union flags flew and large signs were displayed depicting exactly how the workers are feeling about their futures being toyed with.

“YooHoo Tom Tate tell ya mate I gotta put food on my kid’s plate”, “Yuhu if this is how you treat your major partner and Aussie worker hoo-roo Yuhu” and “Yuhu can hide outta sight while someone flies their life but we will stand n fight to be treated right” are among the messages written on the signs.

In a passionate address to the hundreds of workers who gathered for the meeting, CFMEU spokesman Michael Ravbar said it would be a long fight but “we are going into battle”.
