Van Pelt Builders has been registered at the home address of its director Ronald Van Pelt since December 2019, but does not hold a Queensland builder licence and appears to have operated chiefly from Melbourne.

Amsterdam-born Mr Van Pelt reported unsecured debts of $241,695 to the Australian Taxation Office, as well as $45,551 to Westpac and a secured debt of $34,000 to Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.

Nicholas Giasoumi and Shane Deane of Melbourne insolvency company Dye & Co have been appointed liquidators.

Mr Giasoumi said the company had not traded for more than four years and did not expect any further creditors to come forward.
