Gold Coast Tourism CMO Jan Hutton resigns to take on new role with Destination NSW

Destination Gold Coast chief marketing officer Jan Hutton has resigned to take up a position with Destination NSW in Sydney.

ONE of the leading candidates for Gold Coast Tourism’s top job is moving to Sydney to work for a rival tourism and events organisation.

Destination Gold Coast chief marketing officer Jan Hutton has resigned to take up a position with Destination NSW in Sydney.

Ms Hutton was widely considered one of the leading contenders to replace departing Destination Gold Coast CEO Martin Winter.

Mr Winter said Ms Hutton, who joined the organisation two years ago after moving to the Coast from South Africa, had been with Destination Gold Coast through a very important period.

“During this time the City has experienced strong growth in visitor numbers, a new brand has been rolled out, our digital innovation leadership has been demonstrated, and we have capitalised heavily on the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games,” he said.

“We wish her the very best in her new pursuits and thank her for her leading contribution since joining DGC in April 2016.”

Ms Hutton will take up a new position with Destination NSW in June.
