DEVELOPERS want to build a new tower in Palm Beach.
Plans have been filed with the Gold Coast City Council to build a nine-storey mixed-use tower on the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and Twenty Third Ave.

It is earmarked for the site currently occupied by popular cafe-restaurant Avvia.
Developer BluePoint filed the plans after buying the land for $2.7 million.
According to documents filed with the Gold Coast City Council it will feature 38 two-bedroom residential units, on-site communal leisure and recreation space.

There will be retail and commercial tendencies on its ground floor.
At least 45 car spaces will be included in the project.
It will go before councillors later this year.
It comes just months after the Gold Coast Bulletin revealed a beloved Palm Beach cafe would soon be demolished to make way for a beachside tower.
Spikexx Espresso is on the site of an eight-level, low-rise development which is proposed for the area.
Locally based developer Drew Group are behind the eight-level tower on a prime 2198 sqm site, which will front Palm Beach Ave and Jefferson Lane.
The boutique tower will have 76 units and three terraces.
