The tower will have 44 units, with two per level until the 22nd floor.

The site is currently occupied by a pair of 1960s-era two-level unit blocks which will be demolished.

According to plans filed with council, it will have 103 carparks in a tower which has a design inspired by the ocean.

“By combining the local native tree forms with the fluid forms of the ocean, we’ve created a series of residences protected by curved canopies formed out of linear battens – creating privacy, screening western sun, creating visual interest, exaggerating horizontal ocean views, and, allowing for light and shadow to come into the units in a variety of interesting ways throughout the day. These canopy forms rest on a solid rock base made of horizontal bricks,” a planning report on the project said.
