ONE of the Gold Coast’s most luxurious hotels is pressing ahead with revamp worth more than $9 million.
New rooms and an executive lounge are at the heart of The Hilton Surfers Paradise’s cashed-up facelift, which has begun this week.
It is the largest change to the Orchid Avenue hotel since it opened in late 2011. It will see nine guest rooms created on its 15th storey with new designs. The executive lounge will serve breakfast and afternoon drinks while an existing pool deck will be heavily altered to add a children’s play area.

A promenade room will be built to cater for up to 160 people as part of a refocusing on holding more events.
Hilton general manager Fiona Pryde said the first stage of the project was aimed at further attracting leisure, business and conference markets to the hotel: “The new guest rooms and suites are among the best available on the Gold Coast and really capture the freshness and vitality of the destination.
“Families will also love the new-look pool area which will be enhanced further with the addition of a dedicated water park with extensive facilities to keep children entertained as parents relax around the pool, within eye-view of the water park,”
