City planning boss Cr Cameron Caldwell said the project would bring height and density to the heart of Coomera.
“The original Coomera structure plan envisaged height and density close to the railway station and supporting services,” he said.
“Council welcomes this application which indicates the continued interest in the development of the Coomera area.
“Coomera is emerging as a Choice for work and lifestyle for many Gold Coast families.
The Gold Coast City Council named the site as part of the Coomera Town Centre precinct in 2012.
It will be split into four precincts which will be connected by an internal road.
“The built form consists of high quality architecturally designed buildings, that are intended to
attract homeowners, not just investors,” a planning report submitted to council said.
“There are 12 different townhouse types, with seven different floor plan types which creates a high level of variety in the built form of the townhouses.”

“The development will make efficient use of existing infrastructure and will not cause adverse impacts upon the emerging character and amenity of the surrounding locality which is predominantly residential in nature.”
To reduce risk of bushfire, the site will be cleared of shrubbery, with new greenery planted.
