A BIG change is coming to one of the Gold Coast’s most famous golf clubs.
Surfers Paradise Golf Club bosses have filed a development application to install floodlights at its Clear Island Waters course.
According to plans filed with the Gold Coast City Council, 11 lights will be installed on the course, including eight floodlights and three in-ground features.
The flood lights, set to be 11m tall, are expected to be placed around the practice area.
The in-ground lights will be placed along the 18th hole fairway.

The club says in a report to council that it wants its members and visitors to be able to practice at night.
The club has requested council allow them to be used until 11pm seven days a week.
A decision is expected to be made in coming weeks.
