CHEVRON Social Eatery is the latest Gold Coast eatery to close its doors amid a difficult retail trading environment.

The Thomas Drive establishment posted a notice to customers this morning stating: “Chevron Social has closed. Thank you to all our loyal customers.”

The business was set up in 2016 by Cheryl Bench whose other Gold Coast eateries include Taste in Chirn Park and Lola’s in Broadbeach.

The Bulletin phoned the number for Chevron Social to find it disconnected.

Company searches show the business name is held by Taleb No. 4 Pty Ltd, whose sole director is Ms Bench.

Chevron Social was open seven-days-a-week for breakfast and lunch and Thursday, Friday and Saturday for dinner.

The business has a three-and-a-half star rating on TripAdvisor.

One visitor in April this year labels the food “inconsistent” saying there appears to be a “different cook every time I’ve been there”.

Another review from September is more favourable saying the eatery is “the best on Chevron”.

“With great service and they even honoured a meal deal on the website that was no longer on the menu for two courses and a glass of wine for $20,” the review reads.
