The Gold Coast’s newest hotel will open on Wednesday, right in time for the busy Christmas season.
Southport’s TRYP hotel, the state’s second Wyndham-branded accommodation, is part of the first stage of the $3.bn Imperial Square precinct by developer Robert Badalotti’s Azzura Investments
Mr Badalotti said bookings were already strong leading into Christmas.
“We are around 80 per cent booked already,” he said.
“We have had a really strong take-up already and the permanent rentals are also going really well – we recorded 15 in just one day.”
The hotel, first proposed nearly a decade ago, boasts a rooftop infinity pool overlooking Surfers Paradise, day spa, super-sized steam room and sauna, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.
Wyndham has long been linked to Azzura, having previously partnered on the hotel’s Surfers Paradise tower in the early 2000s.
Mr Badalotti said the launch of the hotel was a milestone after its lengthy construction.
“This launch represents a significant step forward for our Imperial Square development and reinforces our commitment to bringing world-class hospitality to the Gold Coast,” he said.
“The addition of a TRYP by Wyndham hotel will enhance the overall experience for both visitors and residents, providing a modern, luxurious destination that will be a cornerstone of the local community.”
The hotel includes Amore Ristorante, a new Italian and Mediterranean-themed restaurant on its ground floor with seating for more than 100 people.
Hotel general manager Daniel Sprange said the property offered the choice of one, two and three-bedroom units.
“We are thrilled to officially open TRYP by Wyndham Southport Gold Coast,” he said.
“The TRYP by Wyndham brand stands out for its modern, vibrant, and localised approach, and we are proud to offer the Gold Coast a dynamic and contemporary hotel experience that appeals to both adventure seekers and business travellers alike.”
