A local Council bought a vineyard, a suburban pub found new owners and an expanding Gold Coast church conglomerate has added to its property portfolio – all in a single month.
A flurry of key commercial properties totalling more than $90m were settled in August, according to State Government records.
The largest sale settled was for a 7862sq m property at 5 Dixon Dr, which sold for $22.2m and is home to brand new watering hole, the Pimpama Pavilion.
The seller was a company majority held by former Affinity Education boss Gabrielle Giufre.
The buyer was Robina-based company Chin Yuan International, which is directed by Chin-Wen Wen and Chiu Hsui-Yun Wen.
The newly-built pub onlyopened for business in August.
Meanwhile, the rapidly-expanding Glow Church added a vast tract of land next to its Robina headquarters to its property portfolio.
The church, which logged revenue of $5.7m last financial year, paid $8.36m for 6985sq m at 287 Scottsdale Dr, which fronts the M1 and heavy rail line.
The property had been owned by Gold Coast City Council until it was sold for $5.15m in February last year.
The seller, Verdun Developments, a company directed by Darren Nye, whose other company Elite RV imports luxury motorhomes.
Gold Coast wasn’t the only council making multimillion-dollar property deals in August, with Scenic Rim splashing $6.435m to buy the 6.17ha Mount Tamborine Vineyard & Winery on the famed Gallery Walk.
The high-profile winery, at 122-128 Long Rd, includes a restaurant, shop and wedding venue.
It had last sold to the Hart family for $1.775m 20 years ago and had been on the market since 2019.
Winery operator Danielle Hart held a 50 per cent share of the winery through Tamborine Holding Company, with the remaining half owned by Hong Kong-based couple Rosemary and Desmond Inglis.
Other key commercial sales settled in August included 185 High St, Southport, which is zoned as a hotel or guesthouse and sold for $6.425m.
It has an area of 1130sq m, was sold by company Statewall to Robert Schinasi.
At Coomera, 2 Naves Dr, which is earmarked for a new Pearl Energy site, sold for $6.3m.
The 3848sq m vacant lot was sold by company SOS SPV to companies B Kratzmann and San Ancona.
At Miami, 47 Lemana Lane, sold for $4.07m to a company directed by Hedges Ave resident Simon Lee.
The 587sq m streetfront warehouse was sold by Todd and Zac Leigh to company Lewani Springs Resort.
Yatala and Stapylton saw a lot of August activity, with a 4.04ha property at 167 Quinns Hill Rd East selling for $11.312m.
The buyer is a company associated with residential developer Royce Blackburne, founder of Roycorp.
Meanwhile, 191 Sandy Creek Rd, a 4.08ha property, sold for $10.1m. The buyer is a company directed and held by Oxenford’s Brendon Welch.
A 6031sq m block at 60 Computer Rd sold for $7.545m.
The buyer was Zhang Ming (Qld), a company jointly held by Ming Zhang and Pei Zhao.
