Nightcap Nobbys: Fate of Popular Coast nightspot revealed

It’s been one of the Gold Coast’s most popular dive bars in recent years. But now, one of the city’s leading kingpins has revealed what has happened to this beachside nightspot.

ONE of the central Gold Coast’s most popular nightspots has changed hands, with its founder admitting he has “mixed emotions” about the sale.

Hospitality kingpin Scott Imlach has sold Nobby Beach live music venue Nightcap after launching it less than three years ago.

The man behind nightspots such as Mr Hizola’s Precinct Brewery Bar, Night Jar and Hideaway, paid tribute to his staff and customers.

“With mixed emotions, I announce we’ve sold Nightcap in Nobbys,” he said in a social media post.

“Thanks to all the staff over the past few years.

“(It) was a hell of a ride.”

Mr Imlach, urged his friends to support the new owners.

The venue opened in late 2019, right before Covid shut down the sector.
