A damaged luxury speedboat owned by "Candyman" tobacconist Travers Beynon has sold at auction after 24 hours of frenzied bidding.
The 38ft Cigarette Topgun fibreglass sports boat, which Mr Beynon bought in 2017 and lovingly restored before using it to ferry half-naked women around the Broadwater with the hashtag “#boatsandhoes” (sic), is now dinged-up and damaged in a Brisbane auction yard.
Bids opened at $1 for the vessel at 7pm Tuesday, climbing swiftly overnight to reach $38,500 by Thursday afternoon.
The final bidder, "AS" from Broadbeach, made the winning bid of $76,500 at 7.02pm.
Bidders from across Australia chimed in, including several Gold Coast locals, with up to four bids lodged every minute in the dying hours of the sale.
The same model boat, undamaged, for sale in the United States of America is going for around $120,000 USD – or $168,000 AUD.
Photos of the once slick black and gold boat, once gleaming and emblazoned with Mr Beynon’s logos, show the hull sporting a large dent, with much of the interior finishings removed.
Bids were set to close at 7pm on Wednesday.
Candyman’s ‘bad ass’ boat trashed, for sale after sinking
February 4: A massive luxury speedboat, once the pride and joy of playboy Candyman aka Travers Beynon, is up for sale after being trashed and partially submerged.
Auctioneers Pickles have advertised the vessel, which the description said had suffered a “partial submersion” with damage to the interior as part of its February marine auction.

The Bulletin has contacted Mr Beynon for details of the incident which left the unregistered boat waiting for a new owner.
Mr Beynon’s Candyshopmansion website, which is currently undergoing maintenance but still available via the cache, describes the boat as “bad ass”.
“It’s a stunning jet black 38ft Cigarette Boat with twin Supercharged V8 motors – a frightening output of 2000 horsepower (made for the choppy open water),” the site said.
“Recently repainted and upholstered in black with striking gold branding on the hull and throughout.”
The refurbishment is documented in a YouTube video and the vessel has made regular appearances on the well-followed Candyman social media accounts.
Mr Beynon, who made his fortune selling tobacco products and has gained notoriety from his largesse, wealth and treatment of women, lives in a vast waterfront mansion in Helensvale.
