Friends of a 25-year-old Gold Coast man, who died after a motorcycle crash on Tuesday, are remembering him for his “heart of gold”.
Keisharn Brown died in hospital this morning after suffering critical injuries in the crash with a Kia sedan at Paradise Point.
Friends of the former Coombabah State High student took to social media to express their grief at the loss of a young life.
“RIP u legend of a bloke, you had a heart of gold brother you will be missed Keisharn,” wrote Luke Johnston. ️
“May he R.I.P. far too young to be leaving us,” wrote Amy Phillips.
“RIP Keisharn,” said Tina Smith.
Posts on Mr Brown’s Facebook page paint a picture of a young man who enjoyed keeping fit and spending time with friends and family.
Initial investigations indicate that around 10.15am, Mr Brown was travelling west on Oxley Dr when his motorbike and a Kia Stinger collided.
He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition where he died Wednesday morning from his injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
The crumpled car and mangled motorbike were removed from the scene of the serious crash four hours after it happened.
Forensic Crash Unit officers and detectives attended the scene, on Oxley Dr just south of Jabiru Island.
The crash left a car embedded in a brick wall at Paradise Point, with the force of the impact tearing the front wheel off the motorbike.
An 81-year-old female passenger in the sedan was taken to Gold Coast Private Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries while the 77-year-old driver of the Kia was not injured.
The motorcyclist was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with critical care paramedics on board.
An ambulance spokeswoman said he had “life-threatening head injuries”.
Detectives arrived at the scene at 10.50am, followed closely by the Forensic Crash Unit..
The crash occurred at a bottleneck in the busy road, where a u-turn bay meets a merging lane.
