Gold Coast Alder Constructions and Condev Construction taking on staff for Commonwealth Games projects

GOLD Coast construction bosses are praising a jobs boost from being involved in key Commonwealth Games projects.

Helensvale’s Alder Construction has grown its staff by 20 per cent to redevelop the Gold Coast Hockey Centre while Condev Construction added five fulltimers for the Broadbeach Bowls Club overall.

The new roles are among more than 4000 workers who have already had a hand in construction of new and upgraded Games venues plus the Athletes Village.

In his latest update, Commonwealth Games Minister Stirling Hinchcliffe said 860 fulltimers were currently workers across all Games-related sites this month, a key driver of a 5.4 per cent rise in employment.
