FAMILY members of fallen Gold Coast developer John Fish are listed as directors of a slew of companies which have millions of dollars in assets.

Mr Fish has come under fire from angry creditors after police this month uncovered opals from a collection once valued at $40 million, some of which the businessman reported stolen last year.

It came as he still owed money, believed to be more than $1 million, to subcontractors and millions more to the tax department and big banks.

Australian Securities and Investments Commission reports show Mr Fish’s daughters, Grace and Stephanie Fish, are the directors of more than a dozen companies, as is his wife Nikki Hudson.

The companies include Fish Capital, Marina Quays Realty, Rothmont Projects Pty Ltd, Hewittville Pty Ltd, Fish Developments and Fish Liquor.

Stephanie Fish, 22, is listed as the owner of a $1.3 million penthouse apartment at Atlantis Towers, Paradise Waters.

Hewittville — of which 23-year-old Grace Fish is listed as director — owns a sprawling, secluded property at Uki, in northern NSW, which was bought early last decade for almost $500,000.

Records show Mr Fish stepped down as a director of Hewittville in October, 2012.

Rothmont Projects Pty Ltd has properties listed at Hope Island, including two bought in June, 2010 for $401,000 and $360,000.

Fish Constructions went into liquidation in 2010 and Mr Fish struck a deal with creditors in 2012 to stave off bankruptcy. Gold Coast Bulletin attempts to contact Mr Fish were unsuccessful.

Mr Fish has said he wanted to “let sleeping dogs lie” and concentrate on future projects, although he admitted the publicity after the opals find had negatively affected his business plans.
