AN INDUSTRIAL bin carrying a load of dirt has reportedly fallen over twenty storeys during a crane malfunction at a Gold Coast worksite.
Paramedics were called to the Broadbeach QUBE worksite just before 4pm this afternoon following the incident.
Those at the site say a rope snapped while lifting the bin, causing it to fall into the unfinished pool.
No one was found to be injured, a number of workers had finished for the day at the time of the incident.
A tradesman on the site from the Morris Property Group said there was an ongoing investigation into a crane malfunction and “safety was not a concern”.
“We are looking into a malfunction of a crane but there is currently no safety issue for crew on site or anyone else.”
WorkCover has issued a non disturbance notice at the site as investigation continue.
