Retail giant Ikea has opened its smallest store in Australia to date, located in a quiet suburb of Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
The new Plan and order point store, located in Belrose, is the second Ikea store of its kind to be opened across the country.
It is a fraction of the size of larger warehouse stores at only 215sqm, and located within the Belrose HomeCo centre.
An Ikea spokesman said the smaller stores were part of a broader campaign to offer a more “personal and tailored shopping experience” by offering face-to-face, one-to-one expert advice on planning a complex home.
“While kitchens and wardrobe systems are on display to make planning complex areas of the home easy, customers can also take advantage of the convenience of Ikea Belrose and place an order for any product across the full Ikea range,” the spokesman said.
Yan Fang, Manager of Ikea Belrose Plan and order point, said: “From today, customers in Belrose can tap into our expertise to help turn their home renovation dreams into reality, or simply get a little inspiration to enhance their lives at home.”
The first Plan and order point store opened in Melbourne’s Highpoint Shopping Centre in September last year.
Ikea has confirmed more stores of the kind will be opened throughout the year.
