An Adelaide Hills woman allegedly paid another person to receive a Covid-19 vaccination in her name.

The 52-year-old woman from Chapel Hill was arrested and charged with deception on Thursday.

According to SA Police, she accompanied the vulnerable person to a Mount Barker vaccination clinic on January 10 and pretended to be their carer while they received the jab in her name.

The woman is said to have needed the vaccine for her employment.

She now faces deception and dishonestly dealing with documents charges and had been bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court in March.

Premier Steven Marshall said the woman’s “vaccination fraud” was “unconscionable behaviour”.

“It’s very good the police got onto this,” he said.

“This sounds like completely unacceptable behaviour:”
