Queensland Police investigate sudden death of baby girl in Mermaid Beach

Police have launched an investigation after a young girl was found dead inside a unit complex in a popular holiday destination.

Police are investigating the sudden death of an infant inside a Gold Coast high rise apartment block.

Emergency services were called to the unit after a young girl was found dead shortly after 8am on Tuesday.

It’s understood the girl was inside the Bela by Mosaic on Peerless Ave, Mermaid Beach.

A crimes scene has been declared while investigations into the cause of death are undertaken.
