Police are seeking dashcam footage and witnesses of a suspected 30-minute “rolling road rage incident” they allege ended in the hit-and-run death of one driver on Friday.
A 20-year-old man Marsden man was arrested and charged with murder on Saturday evening after allegedly hitting a 25-year-old Browns Plains man on Wembley Road the previous afternoon and fleeing the scene.
Queensland Police allege the driver struck the man, who was out of his car at the time, at high speed following an alleged lengthy road rage incident between the pair that spilled across several suburbs.
Police last night released more information on the suspected timeline leading up to Friday’s death and put a call out for public dashcam footage to help piece together the events.
Police said they understand the cars involved were a white Audi S3, which they say was driven by the 20-year-old man, and a silver blue Toyota Camry being driven by the 25-year-old victim, travelling between Brisbane north and Logan between 2pm and 3pm.
The vehicles were reportedly predominantly using the Clem 7 tunnel, Pacific Motorway M3 and the Gateway Motorway M2.
“Motorists checking their dashcam footage may observe the vehicles driving lawfully or erratically and together or separately throughout the near hour-long incident and are urged to come forward with any captured sightings, no matter how insignificant they may seem,” Police said last night.
Motorists without dashcam vision, but who witnessed the vehicles are also asked to come forward.
