“This morning I woke up feeling unwell and immediately had a PCR test which has come back positive for Covid,” he said.

“I have had vaccinations and a booster and will now comply with ACT health orders.”

He will now spend a week in quarantine before he can head back home to Queensland.

Under current ACT health orders, only those who have spent considerable time in a household setting with a positive case must be tested for the virus.

Anyone else linked to the Nationals deputy must monitor for symptoms.

Mr Littleproud is just the latest MP to test positive to the virus.

Last week, NDIS Minister Linda Reynolds confirmed she was isolating in Tasmania after contracting Covid.

In December, a member of Energy Minister Angus Taylor’s staff and a Greens staffer also tested positive.

The Department of Parliamentary Services, which is in charge of the running of parliament, has been contacted for comment.
