Man accused of sending death threats to Victorian Premier

A man accused of sending death threats to Victorian Premier Dan Andrews via email has fronted court after police raided his regional NSW home.

A Nimbin man who has been accused of sending threatening messages to Victorian Premier Dan Andrews has been allowed by a court to walk free on bail.

Marco Faccio, 53, appeared in Lismore Local Court on Monday after being charged with a string of offences related to alleged threats to kill Mr Andrews.

Specialist police from the fixated persons unit opened a major investigation into the alleged threats, which were believed to have been sent via email from NSW late last year.

Officers raided a home in Nimbin, in the state’s north, last month and seized several electronic devices, including a computer, a tablet and a mobile phone.

Mr Faccio was arrested and taken to Lismore police station.

He was charged with using a carriage service to threaten to kill and two counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend.

He was granted bail when he appeared in court on Monday

The court ordered that a brief be served by March 8 and Mr Faccio appear before the court again on March 10.
