A young boy has died and multiple others have been injured following a horror crash along a regional Queensland highway.
A Queensland Police spokesman said officers were investigating the fatal crash involving a 4WD and a truck along the Carnarvon Highway near Injune – about 570km west of Brisbane – at 2.10am on Thursday.
Emergency services attended but the six-year-old boy, from Roma, died from his injuries.
The two drivers, a 33-year-old Roma man and a 59-year-old Brassall man, and an 18-year-old female passenger, were taken to hospital.
Emergency services were assisted by a Roma-based Lifeflight helicopter.
The forensic crash unit is investigating.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage to come forward.
