Vivid Sydney 2022: The must-see guide to this year's light festival

Everyone's favourite winter lights, music and ideas festival is set to return to Sydney this year — from May 27 to June 18 — after being cancelled two years in a row due to the pandemic.

The 23-day festival and arts celebration annually sets the Harbour City ablaze with immersive light installations, multimedia projections, musical performances and creative inspiration.

Installations for Vivid 2022 will feature in 11 Sydney CBD locations, including Circular Quay, Sydney CBD, The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Darling Square, Central Station, Luna Park and Taronga Zoo.

What's ON the program?

The program will include the first Vivid Sydney Dinner, hosted by Justine Clarke at Merivale's Ivy Ballroom, featuring 'love letters to Sydney' by renowned artist Ken Done and journalist/author Julia Baird.

Vivid Sydney 2022 will feature 50 light installations and projection artworks, including:

A line-up of Sydney's most potent musical talent, including:

More than 85 talks and workshops, including:

Vivid Live at the Sydney Opera House will also feature more than 70 Australian and international artists, from Sampa The Great to Nils Frahm, to Paul Kelly joined by Thelma Plum.
