Gang war survivor was 'a millimetre' from death

Ramadan Osman

Shooting Victim

More than a dozen men have been killed in the past 18 months in Sydney's gang war.

If not for a miracle, Ramadan Osman, 26, would have been another when he got hit in the head by a stray bullet directed at low level Alameddine crime clan member Shady Kanj.

Osman's story features in The Daily Telegraph's explosive video series, The War, which dives into Sydney's criminal underworld and the feud between the Alameddine and Hamzy crime families.

Josh Hanrahan

Crime Reporter

Tensions between the Alameddines and Hamzys exploded after the October 2020 murder of Mejid Hamzy, which sparked a spate of shootings across Sydney.

Exiled Comanchero boss Mark Buddle has been accused of financing the execution of Hamzy, on the belief that the 44-year-old stole a 400kg drug shipment worth $39 million that the bikie boss had smuggled into Australia.

Children almost being killed in a drive-by shooting of a daycare centre in November 2021, during an attack on an Alameddine associate, is one of the most shocking acts to come from Sydney's worst gang war.
