Andrew O’Keefe: Life, career and controversies
Former TV host Andrew O’Keefe’s personal life has been thrust into the public arena after the troubled star’s career imploded over the past couple of years.
After a successful 17-year partnership, Channel 7 last year dumped Mr O’Keefe following a series of public scandals and personal struggles.
The ex-host of The Chase and Deal Or No Deal has been on remand at Silverwater Jail after he allegedly grabbed a former sex worker by the throat in January.
A former ambassador for anti-domestic violence organisation White Ribbon, on May 24, O'Keefe was granted bail to fight his drug and alcohol demons at a rehab.
The court was told that the son of a former Supreme Court judge had already been to rehab nine times before over his addictions to ice and cocaine.
We take a look at how Andrew O'Keefe's life unravelled.
O'Keefe enters a rehab after an emotional and mental collapse. He told The Sunday Telegraph at the time: “I wasn’t in good health, I’d also suffered loss of friends and family at the same time.”

Seven cuts ties with O'Keefe. Two domestic violence charges against him are dismissed on mental health grounds after a magistrate found he had been suffering a bipolar episode at the time.

O’Keefe is arrested and faces six charges after police allege he grabbed a former sex worker by the throat, punched her and pushed her to the ground.

He has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including intentionally choking a person without consent, three counts of common assault and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
O'Keefe was bailed to rehab, the Connect Global centre, and will  spend six to 12 months getting treatment for “his longstanding drug problems and mental health issues".
