An 18-year-old has died in a fiery crash in Auburn overnight

The distraught mother of a teenager killed in a horrific fiery crash in Sydney’s west early today have spoken out about her son’s loss.

Abdul Zalfa, 18, was driving his BMW around 3.30am on Wellington road in Auburn when his sedan crashed into a tree. He remained trapped in his vehicle, as paramedics worked desperately to save the teen.

His mum Fatimah and dad Mahmoud were one of the first to arrive on the scene, as distraught relatives attempted to push past police in a desperate bid to get to the young man.

“He was a loving son and was my rock … had the biggest heart, he was always there for me and his siblings,” she told The Daily Telegraph.

“He will be missed so much as he was the rock of the family. He was the perfect son that any mother would wish for.”

The Daily Telegraph understands the vehicle had been travelling at high speeds before it crashed. The BMW smashed through a chain wire fence before hitting a tree and burst into flames.

Islamic community leader Steve Dabliz described the incident as a “complete tragedy” that has rocked the tight knit community.

“My heart goes out to Abdul’s family and friends at this very sad time,” Mr Dabliz said. “At just 18 years of age, this young brother experienced only a fraction of his life and has been cut down many years before reaching his prime.

“While full details of the accident are yet to be released and a report is being prepared for the coroner, I believe this is nevertheless an appropriate time to remind young drivers that speed can be a killer.

“Abdul’s mum and dad now have the heart-wrenching task ahead of them of burying their son, and this is something that no parent should ever have to experience.”

The teen’s death comes only four days after another teenager died when his BMW hit a tree.

Jaylan Stewart died after he drove off Ellangowan Road, Casino, just before 3pm on Saturday.

The St John’s College Year 11 student has been remembered as a “wonderful lad” and a “gorgeous boy” who loved playing rugby.

“Jaylan was an amazing bloke to everyone. Always had a smile on his face and always helped people out,” school friend Gabe Forzan told The Daily Telegraph.

“He was a wrecking ball on the footy field and a good sportsman. He had an amazing connection with his teammates.”

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
