The father of a woman found beaten to death inside her western Sydney unit said she was a “good girl” as he comes to term with her violent final moments.

Police were called shortly before 3am today when the body of 23-year-old Sabah Hafiz was found in a unit on Lane St, Wentworthville which Ms Hafiz shared with her husband, 24-year-old Adam Cureton.

Police hold fears for Mr Cureton’s welfare and detectives from both the Homicide Squad and Granville police command want to speak to him.

It is understood Ms Hafiz had been badly assaulted and it is not believed a weapon was used.

“She was a good girl,” Mr Hafiz said when he arrived today at the property where his daughter died.

Clearly shattered at the news of his daughter’s death, Mr Hafiz spoke briefly to police at the scene before leaving in the company of another of his daughters.

In an online profile which Ms Hafiz set up to explore possible modelling opportunities, she said she “enjoyed being spontaneous”.

“I’m trying to get experience in this field and if I do get paid, that’s great too. It’s something I never thought about doing, but I do enjoy being spontaneous and trying new hobbies from time to time so yeah, really keen to do this,” she wrote.

One neighbour in the building described Ms Hafiz as a recluse.

“She didn’t really speak to anyone, she was an attractive woman,” the man said.

Police have set up Strike Force Palca to look into the woman’s death.

“Police have concerns for the male’s welfare and we ask for him or anyone who knows his location to contact police,” Supt Glasser said.

Forensic officers spent the day combing the unit block and speaking to neighbours who were in the building at the time of the death.
